This little stool is probably a great spot to enjoy the wide views of Lauwersmeer National Park. This morning though, sturdy winds came in from the east while temperatures were well below zero. Within a two-hour drive south of Sydney, the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre is located just 15 km west of Kiama on the NSW South Coast (Tourist Drive ’9’). The centre offers visitors an opportunity to experience a rare rainforest remnant which is representative of the once extensive rainforests of the Illawarra region.
The water of Lake Louise has an emerald colour which comes from rock flour carried into the lake by melt-water from the glaciers that overlook the lake. The view from above can be reached by a nice, not too strenuous hike. Do mind the weather though, on the way back we really got soaked in a heavy thunderstorm.
