The day this picture was taken was literally the hottest day in The Netherlands this summer with temperatures well over 30 degrees. The coolest place was in the far north of the country at the Wadden See coast. Hoping for both a nice photography chance and a proper cool down, my girlfriend and I went to this coolest place: Moddergat.Light was not spectacular, but the cooling down was successful and very pleasant (a nice 21 degrees in the evening!).
This little stool is probably a great spot to enjoy the wide views of Lauwersmeer National Park. This morning though, sturdy winds came in from the east while temperatures were well below zero. Had to litterally hold the tripod to prevent it from falling over. Siberian conditions in NL on the 23rd of March...
Misty winter afternoon, Groningen, NL - Winter scene, shot at the very boundaries of the city of Groningen. Can you imagine all this snow was gone just two days later...
The water of Lake Louise has an emerald colour which comes from rock flour carried into the lake by melt-water from the glaciers that overlook the lake. The view from above can be reached by a nice, not too strenuous hike. Do mind the weather though, on the way back we really got soaked in a heavy thunderstorm.
